IF COMING BY COACH and BUS
Coaches will take you to the Bus Station in Gloucester
Green. The local bus stop for the S1 service up the
Botley Road is on the opposite side of the road outside
the bus station. Alight at the stop immediately before
McDonald's.
IF
WALKING
from the Bus Station,
turn Right on the road outside, go over the cross-roads,
and continue walking in a straight line towards the
Railway Station. You will arrive in Frideswide Square
just before you reach the Station.

TAKING
A BUS FROM THE RAILWAY STATION, and
IF YOU HAVE WALKED FROM THE BUS STATION
The
bus stop you require is numbered F2, and is on the south
side of Frideswide Square, ie, the side opposite the
Railway Station and the Said Business School. Buses 4,
4A, 4C, U1, S1 and S9 can all be picked up from Frideswide Square.
[Service No 11 has been withdrawn since last year].
Leave the bus at the stop BEFORE Elms Parade (Botley
Shops).
Ask
for McDonald's, which is before the A34 bridge over
Eynsham Road.
This is where North Hinksey Lane joins Botley Road, and
is immediately BEFORE McDonald's. Go along North Hinksey
Lane and turn left – this is effectively a cross-roads,
the lane is the “main” road with priority.
It is a lane, with intermittent few footpaths. The Hall
is on the left, immediately after House No. 34, opposite
the Cemetery.
IF WALKING FROM THE STATION
Botley is about a mile from the Station, but walk under
the railway bridge and continue until you turn left,
behind McDonald's, into
North Hinksey Lane. Go along North Hinksey Lane and turn
left – this is effectively a cross-roads, the lane is
the “main” road with priority. It is a lane, with
intermittent few footpaths. The Hall is on the left,
immediately after House No. 34

COMING BY CAR
(including access from Bristol/Swindon A420)
Leave the A34 at the Botley Interchange, and turn down
the hill towards Oxford. You will be confronted by the
traffic lights outside McDonald's. It is easier to turn RIGHT at these traffic
lights, followed by an IMMEDIATE LEFT, keeping
McDonald's on your left. Travel 300 yards southwards,
and join North Hinksey Lane where it turns left.
Continue south (ie straight on) as before, the Hall
being on the left after House No 34. Parking is behind
the Hall.
Please note:
1.
Access to the old shops is now almost impossible from
the Hall, because redevelopment of most of the Botley
Shops (excepting the frontage) is now well underway. The
Co-op and Tesco have re-established themselves in the
old buildings at the Oxford end of the site, there being
more choice at the Co-op, which is behind Tesco's if you
are seeking to purchase food.
2. If
using the lane by car when leaving, it is easier to turn
RIGHT at the sharp bend, and then turn LEFT around in order to reach the traffic lights which
take you to the A34.
